As a long-time fan of New Balance, I’m excited to share my latest obsession: the New Balance 1906R. These sneakers have quickly become my go-to pair for their unbeatable comfort and stylish design.
Whether I’m running errands, hitting the gym, or just lounging around, they neeeeever disappoint!
New Balance 1906R Review
Comfort
First and foremost, the New Balance 1906Rs excel in comfort: the moment I slip them on, it feels like I’m walking on clouds! The last time I felt exactly like this was with the Fila x Weekday Sock Sneakers.
The midsole combines soft foam and bouncy rubber to offer exceptional cushioning and support. On top of that, the interior is incredibly soft, and the upper is made from breathable mesh, which keeps my feet as dry as possible throughout the day.
Versatility
Another great plus of the New Balance 1906R is their versatility. They look great with sportswear but also with tailored trousers (these from Uniqlo are a real compliment-getter!).
The retro design adds a touch of personality to any outfit, and they’re especially cute when paired with “Gen Z ankle socks”, such as Life Socks from Latte The Label. Whether I’m dressing up or down, these fit right in.

Value for Money
In my opinion, at 169 €, they’re a good value for money. The materials and build quality are top-notch, and even after wearing them a ton, they still look great.
Sizing
A quick note on sizing: all New Balance sneakers typically run small. I usually wear a size 37, but for the 1906Rs and the 550, I had to size up to 38.5. So, keep this in mind and maybe try them on or check the size guide.
With their cloud-like cushioning and stylish design, they’ve earned a permanent spot in my shoe rotation. I highly recommend giving them a try, you might just find your new favorite pair of shoes.
