When there’s hype around a beauty product, I always end up following the crowd because I get all the FOMO.
This is exactly what happened with Diego Dalla Palma’s latest release: the My Happy Toy Mascara.
Packaging
Let’s start with the infamous packaging, which has led to many Instagram Direct Messages such as “I thought it was a sex toy”. Yes, that’s exactly the point! It’s big but fits perfectly in my makeup bag (and it’s not a huge one).
Brush
The brush has been designed to curl and lift lashes by separating them. The lined-up, non-staggered bristles pick up more product than usual without clumping.
Formula
The light and creamy formula combined with the brush avoid both clumps and smudges (for real!). I watched a TikTok of a guy who was complaining about the clumping but he was making two typical rookie mistakes:
- His application method was wrong. You need to apply the mascara with a zig-zag motion.
- There was too much product. Remember to swipe the wand against the edge of the container to rid off the excess!
If you apply the My Happy Toy Mascara properly the result is outstanding. Personally, I like to use an eyelash curler to achieve an even better result and the compliments are never slow in coming!
Moreover, the formula “is enriched with 2% SUPERLASH CPX, a highly tolerable synergistic combination of Biotinyl-GHK and Panthenol: it stimulates the proliferation of keratinocytes in the bulb, helps prevent breakage and repair damaged lashes, strengthening them and minimising lash fall.”*
Price
Once you find the thing that works for you, odds are you’ll become loyal and preachy about it! Luckily for our pockets, this mascara doesn’t cost a fortune: 26,90€ for 13ml.
Another staple of mine is the Hey Brow eyebrows gel by Espressoh!
