I’m turning 27 in three weeks, so it’s time to talk about eye creams!
I bought my first eye cream only three years ago, the Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream, which took me ages to empty. Honestly? It didn’t do anything special for me. With or without, there was not much of a difference. Not a great first-time eye cream experience.
Iduncare Firming Eye Cream
So, once it was finally finished, I went on Amazon and looked for the most rated eye-cream they had. At the time it was the Firming Eye Cream by Iduncare (30ml\23,50€), described as
“an anti-wrinkle and anti-sagging eye contour with deep moisturising and firming effects“
thanks to hyaluronic acid, caffeine, double peptised, flaxseed oil, vitamin E, B6 and B3. A lot of good stuff!
A quick look at the properties of the main ingredients:
- Hyaluronic acid: moisturizing and hydrating
- Caffeine: soothing and antioxidant
- Double peptides: boost collagen production
- Flaxseed oil: regenerates skin cell improving the elasticity level of the skin
How and when to use it
You are supposed to use it twice a day, in the morning and in the evening, dabbing it gently with your fingertips.
Would I repurchase or not?
The first feeling you get can be summed up in a word: fresh. Thanks to the Aloe Vera extract, in fact, this cream gives an instant “minty” pleasing sensation.
But don’t be deceived by the first impression. It’s a rich, heavy cream, perfect for the night but a little too much for the day, especially if you are going to do your makeup afterwards. On many occasions, the concealer has literally crumbled!
Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that when I put on this cream before bedtime, the day after I can feel the cream when I first wash my face in the morning as if it has never set.
Having made these points, I do not have a clear opinion about the results. I mean, I don’t have many wrinkles or dark circles, so there’s not a specific indicator that I can look at and say “oh yeah there’s a difference here after six months of costant use”. I haven’t noticed any difference, probably because the cream has never been absorbed by my skin.
I asked the brand if they have come across similar issues in the testing phase, and they answered as follows:
Overall, it’s impossible for me to give more than a 2\10 to this product, therefore I would not repurchase just to try out their new formula and maybe – only maybe – getting along well with it.
