Hourglass Refillable Lipstick
Last week I felt like a very lucky girl: Sephora Italy sent me a huge box full of newly released products, such as the Hourglass Refillable Lipstick.
I’ve never been sent luxury makeup, so when I saw makeup bits from Becca, Marc Jacobs and Makeup Forever I was blown away! I am truly grateful.
I was actually just about to purchase this Hourglass lipstick two weeks ago for a birthday treat from myself to myself but then I was like “girl, you have so many expenses this month, are you sure?” and the guilt won and I didn’t put it in my Sephora basket. Imagine my face when I found out Sephora sent it to me!
Refill your lipstick
The lipstick is in the shade I can’t wait, a cold fuchsia, something I wouldn’t normally pick up. The cool thing is that you can buy other colours and refill the lipstick, keeping the same glorious packaging.
Packaging
The packaging is everything. Since I started hating rose gold, I started loving more gold (remember this post about my Missoma necklace, where I said I was becoming a gold- kind- of -girl?).
On top of this, the more minimalist something is, the more I like it.
Shades and price
The colour range is quite insane: there are 30 shades, pricing from 19,90€ to 22€ (first shade + packaging is 34,50€). The price tag is similar to Mac lipsticks but I have to say the quantity you get is inferior: 0.9g instead of 3g as for Mac ones.
Texture
However, the quality is good and quite long-lasting. The formula is creamy and the finish semi-matte.
I think this the prettiest lipstick ever (the stiletto-esque gold casing reminds me of the popular Christian Louboutin Nail Polish) and it makes a good gift for someone *Christmas is coming* or a lovely piece to have in your makeup collection.
Plus, Sephora does 20% off everything regularly (I’d say every one month and a half) so you can get it for less.
Do you like it? Have you tried it?
