Have I found the best skincare routine?
I will never stop until I find the best skincare routine. Of course, everyone has different skin and lifestyle, but maybe if a product works for me it may works for you too.
For your information, I have normal to combination skin type. This means I occasionally get spots and blackheads, and in specific times of the year, it is oilier or with dry patches.
Let’s have a look at my go-to products of the moment.
Makeup remover: Grace & Stella Cleansing Balm
I was looking for an affordable makeup remover similar to coconut oil, without the typical issue of being REALLY solid at room temperature during winter.
I found this Grace & Stella Balm on Amazon and I’ve been obsessed with it since day one. It removes waterproof and heavy makeup beautifully, especially with a MyCleanUp cloth. No more leftover mascara!
In Italy, there is much hype around the Olio Denso by Estetista Cinica, and Italian brand founded by an aesthetician. I’ve tried it myself and yes, it works well and it’s a good makeup remover but it’s 25€. With this money, I could buy two Grace & Stella cleansing balms! So for value\price, I highly recommend the one from Grace & Stella.
And remember, the first rule for a good-looking skin is: do not forget to remove your makeup and wash your face at the end of every day.
Cleanser: Pixi’s Rose Cream cleanser
I am not particularly fussy with cleanser, but I’m really liking the Rose Cream cleanser by Pixi Beauty. It is very creamy and delicate. This is why it suitable for all skin types, including very sensitive ones.
A tube contains 135 ml: a very good amount!
Moreover, the Pixi’s Rose Cream cleanser is paraben-free and not tested on animals.
One of my small resolutions is to start using again my Foreo Luna together with the cleanser, because I’ve been noticing more blackheads on my nose since I stopped.
Toner: Ole Henriksen Balancing Force Oil toner
The Ole Henriksen Balancing Force Oil Control Toner is really refreshing thanks to an energizing eucalyptus-peppermint scent. You can really feel the skin purified.
Face cream: L’Oréal Hydra Genius
L’Oréal Hydra Genius is a gel-cream perfect for Spring and Summer. This face cream has more water and less oil than conventional creams in its formula, so it gets absorbed faster. The light consistency is what I look for when the weather gets warmer.
The only downside is that it doesn’t have SPF.
How can you find the best skincare routine for you
These products mixed together work well together for me, but how can you find your perfect combination?
- Identify your skin type (normal, dry, oily, combination or sensitive)
- Answer this question: what are your main issues with it?
- Now that you have identified your skin type and the issues that stand between them and clear skin, look for specific products.
- Keep trying new stuff until you find what works for you. Obviously, don’t change your skincare routine too frequently, but if something hasn’t made your skin happy don’t repurchase it.
