K-Beauty lovers, you’ve probably heard of Beauty of Joseon, the brand that blends traditional Korean skincare ingredients with modern formulations. With all the hype surrounding their products, I had to try two of their most popular ones: Revive Serum and Relief Sun.
Revive Serum: Ginseng + Snail Mucin
Texture & Application
The texture is lightweight and absorbs quickly without feeling heavy or sticky. I usually apply 2-3 drops after my skin detergent at night. I suggest you apply a cream with SPF the morning after, such as the following cream by Beauty of Joseon or Anthelios SPF 50+ by La Roche Posay.
Benefits
- Ginseng Extract helps prevent wrinkles caused by UV exposure.
- 3% Snail Mucin promotes skin regeneration and, again, prevents signs of aging.
- Collagen & Elastin maintain skin elasticity.
It slides easily on your skin and, very important to me, doesn’t feel too sticky. Although, I usually feel the need to wash my hands right after.
Price
It’s around 15/20€.
It’s tricky to judge how effective products like toners and serums really are, since they’re just one part of the whole routine and it’s hard to tell if they’re actually what’s making the difference.
Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics
Texture & Application
This is a lightweight, creamy sunscreen that feels like a moisturizer rather than a typical SPF. Even when applied generously, it doesn’t leave a greasy feeling: a win! I used it as the final step in my morning skincare routine, before applying the amazing Dior Forever Skin Perfect Stick Foundation.
Benefits
- 30% Rice Extract provides deep hydration, leaving the skin “plump”.
- Biological SPF Formula, which means it absorbs quickly!
I love the Anthelios, but it’s very liquidy, and you have to be careful… especially in the morning before you’ve had your coffee and are still half asleep. Also, it’s 10€ more than Relief Sun.
Finally, the packaging is minimalist and looks nice in my Hay small Crate (at the time I was worried that the light yellow might get tiring, but it’s been 4 years and it still makes my Libra heart happy.)
Price
It costs around 19€.
These are the two Beauty of Joseon products I’ve tried so far, but I definitely have my eyes on a few more!
